Sandra Kienast

At the beginning of my Ph.D. in the lab of Sebastian Leidel, I developed a method to detect and quantify RNA modifications by mass spectrometry at femtomole resolution. Besides my affinity for developing and using novel techniques, I also seek to answer hitherto unanswered biological questions. Currently, I am investigating how the loss of cytosolic tRNA modifications leads to impaired mitochondria. If I do not work with my current favorite molecule RNA, I am a passionate traveler, diver, cook, baker, and mom.
