I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clinical medicine in China. During my master’s research, I discovered that TRMT1, a tRNA-modifying enzyme, can promote resistance to targeted therapies in lung cancer cells. This finding sparked my deep fascination with tRNA modifications. Motivated by this interest, I came to Switzerland and joined Sebastian’s lab as a PhD student. I am now studying the role of tRNA modifications in human health and disease. I hope that one day, tRNA-based therapeutics can be translated into clinical practice to help treat various diseases.

Outside the lab, I enjoy exploring Switzerland’s magnificent natural landscapes. I also really enjoy living in Bern—a charming old city with many beautiful fountains.
